About Cumberland Finance
Cumberland Finance is an online loan request service for people in Kentucky. We help you reach lenders with one request and explain what a loan will cost before you sign.
What we do
Finding a short-term loan usually means filling out the same form on site after site. We built one request that reaches lenders in our network, so you can see whether anyone can lend to you without starting over each time.
Our focus is Kentucky. Our pages follow Kentucky's payday loan law, which changed in 2024 and again in 2026, and we update them when the rules change.
What we don't do
Cumberland Finance is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. If a lender makes you an offer, the amount, fee, APR and repayment terms come from that lender and appear in the loan agreement before you sign.
We never charge you a fee, and we never ask for money up front. If anyone claiming to be us asks you for a payment to release a loan, it's a scam. Please tell us at [email protected].
Our standards
- Costs shown in dollars. We show what a loan costs in dollars, not only as a rate, and we use Kentucky's legal maximums in our examples.
- Sources for legal facts. Every statement about Kentucky law points to the statute, and we note the date it took effect.
- No false promises. We don't promise approval, same-day money or loans without any checks, because no honest service can.
- Licensed lenders. We expect lenders in our network to hold the licenses Kentucky requires for the loans they offer.
Our name
The Cumberland River and the Cumberland Plateau run through southern and eastern Kentucky. The domain was used earlier by other, unrelated businesses, including a Lexington finance company until 2024. Read the history of the name.
